SAILOR’S COMPANION LIGHTHOUSE “La Jument”

Since the beginning of navigation, lighthouses had been landmarks for sailors all over the world. What started out as just large bonfires, have now turned into computerized, and automated with complex radar systems, and extraordinary, powerful lighting.
The tallest lighthouse in history was an Alexandria, Egypt. it stood over 450 feet tall, and guided sailors for over 1000 years. Today the tallest lighthouse, the Jeddah Tower is much smaller. It stands around 400 feet tall and is located in Saudi Arabia.
The most famous lighthouse in the world is the Statue of Liberty, in New York. Lady liberty torch was more than a guiding light for ships, it also represented a beacon of hope end of a brighter future.
